WELDER (ANCHORS- 2ND SHIFT)- Independently perform assembly, metal cutting with propylene oxy torch or plasma method, welding using GMAW method along with related material handling and setup to established procedures and print requirements.


  • Lift, move, handle and position multiple size rods, pipes and bars for welding.
  • Weld metal components to multiple shape and size materials.
  • Utilize hand tools, torches and special equipment to cut and grind metal components.
  • Work using engineering drawings, technical procedures and templates.
  • Perform GMAW techniques to AWS and MacLean specifications while independently adjusting machinery and gas flows to satisfy procedural requirements.
  • Inspect and qualify cuts and joints using specified analog and digital measuring instruments.
  • Move part carts, jigs, fixtures and equipment as required to accomplish various jobs.
  • Meet daily production, reporting, and cleanliness expectations.


  • Education: High school or equivalant
  • Certificates and Licenses: Yes
  • Must be able to read, understand and apply blueprints, job/part specifications, measuring devices and tools, and various production sheets.
  • Must have an understanding of basic shop hand tools such as: grinders, torches, and measuring devices.
  • Must have basic math skills and understand basic measurement increments in decimals and fractions.
  • Must be able to communicate verbal and written with supervisors,management and coworkers regarding work related tasks, coordination, schedules and other job related issues.
  • Must possess strong safety attitude and ability to adhere to all safety requirements and practices


  • Exposure to heat, cold, fumes, smoke, and hot meal
  • Close proximity to moving mechanical parts, welding flash, electrical current, fork lift movement/traffic, crane operation.
  • Constant standing, twisting, turning, handling, and gripping.
  • Constant pushing/pulling of 12-25 lbs.
  • Constant lifting/carrying of 10 50 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying 51-100 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing pulling 26-40 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching outward, squatting/kneeling, and reaching above shoulders
