PRODUCT SPECIALIST- The objective of this role is to integrate seamless business practices throughout MacLean Power Systems to better serve internal and external customers. The candidate will be responsible for review of specifications, analyzing costs, pricing analysis, submitting quotes and fulfilling customer service requests. Candidate must be a self-motivated team player with strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Candidates will perform a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer submitted specifications and offer/develop cost effective product solutions.
  • Analyze customer needs and determine product capabilities and limitations in order to emphasize appropriate product features
  • Interpret competitor designs and offer MacLean alternatives
  • Develop cost estimates from similar existing designs
  • Price product to maximize profit margins within established departmental guidelines
  • Submit quotations in timely and professional manner
  • Interface with reps and end users
  • Act as an advocate and representative for the customer inside the MacLean-Fogg organization
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate resolution of customer transactions
  • Manage escalations where appropriate
  • Investigate and resolve daily and complex customer service issues
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of identified customer accounts; know needs and concerns intimately
  • Support Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and guidelines
  • Coordination / program management of ongoing project orders
  • Other duties may be assigned or required for this position

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree from accredited college/university; technical degree preferred
  • Customer Service background; manufacturing or technical sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CAD experience a plus
  • English is required
  • Able to read and interpret drawings
  • Computer literate with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with multi-tasking abilities and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference in addition to mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure)
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for this role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
